Stand Down for Safety
Daniel Hughes, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Compliance Officer, talks to 130th Airlift Wing members about the importance of ladder safety during May 11, 2017 during Fall Prevention Focus and National Safety Stand Down day. Hughes, who also serves as an Occupational Safety Craftsman at the 130th, imparted wisdom to unit members about fall prevention, ladder safety and statistics to ensure workers are safe while on duty. According to the Air Force Safety Center, between the years of 2012 and 2016 there were almost 3,500 falls with 13 fatalities on duty, many of which could have been prevented.
