December Drill Postponement

Due to the rising spread of COVID-19 in WV, December drill will be postponed.  Currently, there is no plan to reschedule this drill as a Wing.  Your Group Commanders,  Squadron Commanders, and Chiefs will work with you to schedule make up days based upon readiness requirements and individual schedules.  If anyone will suffer financial hardship due to this postponement, please contact your supervisor and a makeup plan will be swiftly rescheduled.  Along with the training requirements generated to support your Squadron Readiness, Flu shots, SAPR training, and Suicide Awareness training are all coming due at the end of this calendar year.  If you have not completed these events your supervisors and Unit Training Managers will be working with you to develop a plan for completion.

COVID cases within the Wing have been relatively high compared to our local population.  It is important that we do all we can to mitigate this risk, to include following the Governor’s mask order.  Closing our base gym has been discussed, but we have made the decision to leave it open for now.  Mask wear will be mandatory in the gym.

The members of this Wing have responded positively time after time to the challenges presented by this pandemic.  I thank you for that and ask for your continued patience and flexibility.  It is an honor to serve with you.
